HOW TO FIND A LOST CAT

Lost your cat? Don't worry for a second; You're going to find her. She obviously got stuck somewhere or she'd have come at meal time.  If you looked inside the dryer, washing machine, garage, pipes, stable, barn, vents and the attic, (where I heard a clawing noise but only found a very shocked possum family,) --then she isn't in your house because cats come at mealtime snow, rain, hail and never fail. She's definitely locked in someone else's home and they don't even know it.

Generally she will be found  in a neighbor's garage or shed, sometimes on a sunporch but usually they'd hear her plaintive meow, so chances are it's a detatched shed or garage with some serious walls and doors.. What happened is, she wandered over there, thought she'd have a peek inside and got locked in. Folks who aren't listening for a tiny mew won't hear one!

Your neighbor may even have opened that garage and put his car in and she still didn't leap out fast enough; she got shut in twice. Hey, cats aren't NASA scientists!

Now, you can walk from house to house up your street meowing but there is way too much street noise in the daytime to hear a response so you won't find the cat then. It's just too noisy in most cities today.

My cat was missing for two days. I thought it was a mating call, so I didn't go looking for her the first day. But then I realized that romance would have given her an appetite and second day I walked my street, in the afternoon, meowing outside all my neighbor's garages, listening for a response. Nothing. But I did it again at 1 in the morning and then, that time, I clearly heard her meow response! The call resond thing went on for about twenty calls. Was I happy! I went to garage window, shone the flashlight in and saw her! Dainty ballerina up on some stacked suitcases, pirouetting in the light.

I called some more and every time I meowed, she'd meow back and I heard her clearly which wasn't true in the daytime, and I'd made the same sounds, though maybe she was napping. Or maybe street sounds drowned Her mom's meow out.

So do the WALK! Try the three houses nearest you, to find her. Tomcats wander further, then it's harder for you. But girls don't go more than two or three houses.

Anyway, at 1 a.m,. I woke my poor neighbor lady and she went and got her key. I opened garage, had a hard time getting my cat to come, which my neighbor observed patiently. I then told her I OWED her greatly for this and plan a gift. I went home, offered water to my cat, she drank for a long time; then I fed this little year old girl cat who'd been missing for 45 hours. Then we cuddled in bed and watched tv for a while. These articles below might make you remember some of the places that I have forgotten to mention.
