THE KIMONO JACKET, ORIENTAL ELEGANCE for OPULENT DAYTIME FABRICS

Want to start an international importing business? You just need a few standout pieces. Need a good idea? We've shown you THE JORONGO. Semi Precious GEMS. They're good ideas. But here's a third one. The elegant jacket based on the KIMONO!

How I come to be thinking of this is.....Today, I ran into an elegant japanese designer waiting in the long line ext to me in the post office. Her clothing was startling. A beige, rough handwoven, cotton/linen textile done as a jacket but with what is called kimono design. It had an asymetrical double breasted front that crossed diagonally to her other hip. She wore it with a phone holder on one hip, with a thin strap around her shoulder crosswise over body.

I came home and started GOOGLING around looking for  KIMONO JACKET patterns. There were hundreds of patterns for sale on the internet. I'm searching for this exact, VERY HOT DESIGN in that it's a useful garment for women of all ages. It also lends itself to third world textiles nay...it cries out for them!

Imagine a trim, body hugging kimono slightly more inwardly at the waist curved than this graphic, with a full double breasted cross over, woman's jacket, right? In the illustration the crossover is not complete. It should go all the way across to the opposite hip to be dramatic, commanding.

LENGTH- The length of a jacket for a mature woman would be just enough to cover the bottom of the butt. Allow  thighs and trousers or pencil skirt to show. This is best worn with an slender pant leg with this kimono jacket. Women like that length.

SLEEVES: Then have long sleeves, narrow, not like real kimono with flapping flags off arms, no, but reg sleeves.
COLLAR is just a banded edge, no reverse, no fold or lapel!

This is a woman who has put all her patterns for sale permanently at EBAY. She's using them as a website

There were hundreds of websites showing kimono patterns all available on the internet, all vendors with good patterns for this concept.

Isn't the INTERNET amazing???? What did we do before it came our way? We were stranded and didn't know it!

I still have not found the exact pattern that I saw today in post office with a true double breasted front that crossed diagonally to the opposite hip. The DESIGNER/ ARTIST who wore it was super chic. She also had a 3x6 inch tiny purse strapped crosswise over her body holding a small cell fone, also made of some elegant textile. A great second design. She carried her real purse, a 300$ leather bag in her hand. CELL PHONE purses are a great idea these days! Its strap was elegant, thin as a hair ribbon. This woman rocked.
As you travel the world, consider taking many different jacket patterns with you, and when you find super textile sources, explain to seamstresses that you want them to create an assembly line and manufacture three sizes of jacket, in various Ethnic, African, Chinese, Hindu textiles.  Every department store in America and Europe will buy them.
