The Wall Street Casino banks engineered the RECESSION of 2008. Every BIG DIP they get to buy everything cheap. It's no THEORY that the top 14 families work in a concerted way to SURF the waves. Their big money is made in RECESSIONS. THE GREED OF THE Bankster, the tricks the galactic overlords use, the maneuvers of the bankers to get the entire middle class to invest, then pull the rug out from under their feet, are well known by economists everywhere. Only TWO BOOKS I KNOW OF depict the true scandal MICHAEL LEWIS "THE BIG SHORT" AND LEWIS' EARLIER BOOK "LIAR'S POKER." BOTH ARE READABLE EYE OPENERS.
A film on WALL STREET that had penache, entertainment values? Yes. Well, pretend you're writing a mystery novel. Every mystery needs a corpse on the first page. THIS NOVEL had the American financial tsunami depicted from its birth, in its seed form. Now, first thing the reader will want to know, (and this author would wonder too, while he's structuring it) is WHO the *%@*@(*%)@&%* DUNNIT?
The author does NOT KNOW when he sits down, although MICHAEL LEWIS had the four guys who bet AGAINST all of WALL STREET and knew it was a BERNIE MADOFF type HOAX, and they bet on it and earned a billion bucks each. He had the witnesses to the real life event, so the AUTHOR got their true stories. BUT IF YOU WERE DOING a novel on an OVERNIGHT BANK COLLAPSE,you would set OUT to find a believable chain of events. For a sudden tsunami in Finance world. In the author's mind he knows that the TORTURE, RAPE AND DEATH of Wall Street gives us a commanding crime, a real attention getter. Well, it should automatically give us a set of suspects, right? So he makes a list. I mean if you were writing a book of fiction. WHO DUNNIT?
SUSPECT #1. THE COMMIES. THE RUSKIS and CHINKS, right? That worked for the last ten American presidents. The commie's a convenient villain, easy to hate. Put a face on it, we use Joe Stalin. Perfect villain. The crash was planned by the pinko LIBERALS of the world, you know the sort, envious of the dollar, envious of the fast American economy. Cursed by famine and suppression, they hate the Free Market and the Free living Land of the free......
Immediately the author knows that won't wash. Cuz ECONOMY 101 isn't like TENNIS where one side absolutely has to lose. This is a dialectic, where two opposites, yin and yang, spiral upwards each fulfilling the polar destiny to the other. So the writer scratches that possibility.
SUSPECT #2 - THE LAZY AMERICAN WORKER. Now, that's your target audience, right, how can the writer indict the WORKER BEE for the loss of the HIVE. That's bad writing. Besides most drones are working two full time jobs, husband and wife. We need a virus, an infection in the HIVE, hmmmm what could that be?
SUSPECT #3 THE WORLD BANKERS. Nahhh. How could that be true. They wouldn't destroy what they built up. Is there any logic to that? Well, it's a stretch but let's see, it might work. We know they were guilty for the prime rate mortgage meltdown. OK. His pencil's flying while our Agatha Christie 's connecting the dots or how else could he write it? He has to string a trail of crumbs betwen the corpse and the malfactor and see if it's a logical sequence..
The author needs to know WHY would BANKERS DO THAT?? What is the CUI BONUM? Nobody kills the corpse they've got to eat, do they? Well, Meat eaters do, but let's put it this way. Nobody kills the GOLDEN GOOSE that lays the egg. Nobody kills that, right?
YEAH but you gotta understand -- THIS GOOSE has miraculous properties. It dies and comes back to life once a generation and they know how to turn the board at the peak and surf the trough, grab everything not held down and make money from recessions, crashes, crises and they damn well know it. (Ok, so we're writing a JK ROWLING novel. Harry Potter and the GOLDEN GOOSE. (Fantasy sells well, too.)
In our story, in our plot, the Banksters have this immortal bird called THE GOLD MAKER. They are first in line always to get all its eggs. They needed the PUBLIC to raise the goose, to feed it, to fatten it. Now, suddenly, it's like a POKER POT. It's gotten seriously HUGE. So what do cardplayers do? They bluff and LIE and SUCKER in more bets and then they out of nowhere need to shake as many cretins' hands free of that poker pot, off the BANKERS' fat, GOLDEN GOOSE (by raising the ante on the mortgage by a huge % they grab all the chips in play on the board, grab our houses, our shirts and do it neat! Like in one fell swoop. And do a believable 'Huh, how did that happen? Jeez, it was the economy damnit. Who foresaw THAT? And get the hell out of Dodge. They go laughing out into the street their pockets jingling.
Then, they let a generation pass so the geriatrics die out, then up come the kids, well kids are kids. They forget the lore of the previous generation, just as the Dust Bowl Depression homeless who couldn't plant and earn and eat and keep their homes and had to move -- forgot. Just as the 20's TULIP SURGE investors who put their life savings into the dustbowl of Wall Street and then couldn't get anything out of it --- forgot.The wisdom died as they leapt off the 50th floor.
All the CAUSE AND EFFECT WISDOM is forgotten by the Hoipolloi who don't keep records of cause and effect trends. So the BANKSTERS who DO keep cause and effect trend records wait 75 years and strike again. They lured us into buying overpriced crap....they are like a TOY THIEF who enchants all the kids on the block so they are sucked into being VERY PRODUCTIVE for a while. They work hard at their job, (disguised slave labor) and save like little squirrels, they buy both property and stock. Then, thebanksters comealong like a big wind and shake all the nuts off the tree. The Chaff goes bankrupt and are out of this cruel Darwinian game. Extraneous to the evolutionary process is anyone who bought into a variable rate on overpriced property during a surge. Penalty? Head squirrel gets his nuts! That was a whole decade's worth of NUTS!!!!!! DAMNIT!
Then there are the unseen, metaphysical causes of a mass meltdown. If you're so dumb you buy in a surge, and take a variable rate you're like that DARWIN contest they have each year. You know, guys who put a stick of dynamite in their mouth and go into a barbecue? You're part of the group that votes itself out of the GENE POOL!
OTHER CRIME WRITERS check out this PLOT and POINT OUT: What about the logic of THE BIG BANKS now having to BAIL OUT THE LITTLE BANKS? Isn't that inconvenient for them? Accusing them of putting a bullet in each of their friends? Never wash!
WALL STREET STOLE TOO MUCH, LOST PRESTIGE, destroyed its own USE to the IMF/ FED and the BIG BANKS who now SIMPLY SHIFTED ALLEGIANCE. That PLOT REALLY COOKS! This implies the BIG BANKS wanted America sent to the back of the TRAIN! They have new candidates for the HIGH PROFIT INVESTMENTS. REO's or RENTING OUR FORECLOSED HOMES TO US at TRIPLE RENT
FED HEAD ALAN GREENSPAN allowed the BANKERS to rape the AMERICAN economy when he let BY the planet's biggest HIGHWAY ROBBERY AND MELTDOWN ever CREDIT BUBBLE! Now he's a pathetic villain warning us of the current BOND MARKET being a bubble and we love him again as he's old, bent over, reminds us of Woody Allen. WE excuse the big one in 2008. After all, he may have been demented by too much Deli. He has that young wife, too much decision power in the hands of Dr. Demento! That might work.
