8/16/2007 A Miami federal court has found US citizen Jose Padilla and his two co-defendants Lebanese-born Palestinian Adham Hassoun and Jordanian-born Kifah Jayyousi guilty of plotting to kill people overseas and supporting terrorism.All three were convicted of conspiracy to murder, kidnap and maim individuals in a foreign country, conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, and providing material support to terrorism.
The jurors took only a day-and-a-half to find them guilty on all three counts against them. The three men will be sentenced on December 5 this year, the judge in Miami said. They now face a maximum sentence of life in prison.
All three denied charges of conspiring to murder in Chechnya, Afghanistan, Bosnia and elsewhere from 1993 to 2001. Padilla, a convert to Islam, was once suspected of, but not charged with, plotting a "dirty bomb".
Meanwhile, Padilla's mother, Estela Lebron, said she expected her son's lawyers to appeal against his conviction.

North and Poindexter had their charges dropped.
